Catherine Hoffman’s passion for firearm safety is rooted in her quest for knowledge. As a Registered Nurse in the Emergency Department, Catherine saw her fair share of knife wounds and shootings. This instilled a strong fear of guns. Finally realizing her issues were not with guns themselves, but her lack of knowledge, Catherine decided to take one educational course. From there, her passion for firearm safety and education was ignited.

After years of classes, participating in shooting competitions and becoming an active member in the community, Catherine decided to become a certified instructor. Her coursework and education includes:

    She is also an active member in the NRA as an endowed Life Member, the Second Amendment Foundation, Jews for the Preservation of Firearms and A Girl and a Gun Facilitator. She actively participates and competes in IPSC and 3 Gun competitions.

    Catherine is the President of the Sherwood Tri County Gun Club. The Club has approximately 6000 members. She began a Ladies Defensive Pistol League there which is in its fifth year.

    Catherine and her husband have lived in Sherwood for more than 30 years. In addition to teaching firearm safety she also enjoys cooking, taking care of her garden, raising chickens and breeding Dobermans.
